Finally. After some fits and starts, it has arrived. A little over two years ago, my nightly radio show was cancelled on 970 WDAY, Dizzo’s Den. A short time after, I wrote that I’d be doing something in the radio/podcast world in a short amount of time. Well, two years later here we are. I have enjoyed Kolpack and Izzo immensely and that always is a good time, but I was hoping to do something in a longer format, without the structure of radio and certainly nightly sports tv.
So here we are. This podcast will certainly have a sports feel, because that’s what I love, that’s what I do. But it also will have a feel of other things I love, like movies, comic books, foods and Seinfeld. If you come for the sports and that’s it, that’s fine. If you don’t like what you hear, that’s fine too. This is something I’ve wanted to do and I’ve got the support from the person most important to me, my wife. I wasn’t married, or even engaged when the nightly show went away. My life has changed for the better, and my wife is a large reason why. Maybe someday, I can convince her to join me for a show.
As for our debut show, former North Dakota State linebacker Kyle Emanuel leads off. Emanuel just wrapped his third year in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers. We talked about a variety of topics, everything from his days at NDSU to his future with the Chargers. Emanuel is a great interview, which I think you’ll enjoy.
Our second guest is from the sports media world, which will be a fixture on this show. For our first show, Darren Wolfson, sports producer at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis joins me to discuss everything Twin Cities sports, along with his successful podcast and the future of the Super Bowl returning to the Twin Cities.
This is an experiment folks. I know some may not like it, others may think it boring. Whatever this show is now, it certainly won’t be in six months. But I’m glad to be on this ride. Hope you enjoy.
